Hazard Analysis Support to the Transportation Security Administration
CSS has provided safety and health support, and a variety of other activities in support of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Office of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) programs.
TSA is required by law to perform hazard analyses and document hazardous conditions in operations where TSA employees work, encompassing more than 50,000 TSA employees at more than 450 airports and field sites nationwide. Initially as a prime contractor and currently as a subcontractor, CSS has provided safety and health support, conducting industrial hygiene (IH) surveys and workplace hazard assessments, fire prevention/protection and life safety assessments, equipment hazard reviews, indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations, exposure monitoring and data analysis, employee complaint investigations, and a variety of other activities in support of TSA programs. We have performed workplace hazard assessments and IH surveys at more than 450 federalized airports and other TSA facilities and locations nationwide. CSS prepares a formal hazard assessment report for each site visited. The major services on this contract include:
- Baseline workplace hazard assessments

- Specialized hazard exposure assessments
- IAQ investigations, ergonomics assessments, employee complaint investigations
- Safety surveys and inspections
- Injury/accident investigations
- Evaluate facility diagrams, construction drawings, and written plans and procedures for fire prevention and protection

CSS’ staff worked EPA Consequence Management Advisory Division (CMAD) to develop an integrated framework for responding if a biological agent was released over a wide area in New York City.

We provide site-specific in situ monitoring coupled with predictive modeling, to provide an early warning system to advise health officials and resource managers on how to best focus their efforts to protect health and environment.
